TheHulk7, well i had pretty the same 'torment of choice' a while ago like you have now. I decided to get a good HUD and didn't know which one to choose. So i started compare those both elephants on a market. And i have realized quickly they are both pretty similar. However i should say PokerTracker 4 seems to be working slightly faster (especially on laptops or older PCs), cause it's interface more simplified in comparison to 'better looking' HM2. Also PT4 has already it's Notes writer & LeakTracker already included into original software. At HM2 both you have to buy additionally.

So those were the points for me to stay on PT4 instead of HM2. But i think it's really a matter of taste. They are both good and have same functions. Some professionals use HM2 another use PT4. Can't say that one software is better or easier to use than another. Each HUD needs a lil bit time to get used to and learn how to use it proper.
It's normal thing to be a bit overwhelmed at the beginning of using. There are some youtube videos that can show you in details how to use it: Btw, both softwares has it's own video instructions of different options integrated into software. (In PokerTracker 4 you just need to click on a green button with '?' To starts help video.) Also i recommend you to watch this video, to get basics about what HUD is about and which stats means what: If you have any questions about using PokerTracker 4, don't hesitate to ask it right here. Yeap alienat3d went through the topic pretty thoroughly!I would like to point out some points: -You can use Jivaro if you want a simple HUD but you can't review your session after the game. You have to pay it every month.
Or you can make a yearly subscription with a discount ofc. I have tried it and it was just fine! - HM2 and PT4 are two professional tools if you are serious in your game, don't panic with the setup. After the first minutes you get used to it,it's pretty easy and highly customizable! Both have micro -low limits edition which is cheaper and the full version with unlimited buy-ins supported! You can find in their sites the informations you need. Also try them out both if you want to make that investment! Thanks a lot guys!
I completely agree with you. I use Jivaro now and as you said, it's very simple HUD with excellent graphics and very easy to use, and yeah, I can't review session after the game and it works only on PokerStars. So, I understand that it is not a pro tool like as pt4 / hm2 but it offers an excellent introduction into how HUD actually works, I'm sure, for beginners like me this is very important thing, once you realize how HUD works, you can use any of them.
When I started the poker tracker for the first time I had a lot of problems to manage with all these numbers, but now I am sure it would be much easier. So, if anyone looking for the first HUD, try Jivaro, and then you can easily move onto pt 4 or hm2. One more thing, if you do not play multi tables, you no need any tracker. It is enough to look closely at a few and you will have the necessary information. Of course, this is just my experience in a very short time. Thanks a lot guys! I completely agree with you.

Glad we helped you man, I agree with you, if you one tabling it's ok to play without a HUD. If are able to invest some money and time in you online experience then you have to go one step further for a more powerful software!
Best of luck. Im long time PT4 user and recently approved an an official pokertracker 4 premium addon developer so my comment might sound a bit biass but i believe PT4 is better than HM2. The thing is PT4 learning curve is a lot more steaped in comparison to HM2 where the user interface is a lot more user friendly as everything is also preconfigured.
PT4 offers a lot more customazations allowing you to create custom stats, HUD profiles and reports as you see fit. This might be a bit overwhelming for someone new to these programs but once you pass through that initial learning phase in PT4 you will realize you can get a lot more value out of it than with HM2. HM2 is heavily mostly use by cash gamers giving they can add NoteCaddy to it as this is an exclusively HM2 addon software, but giving the state of the industries more and more sites are lauching new updated to their TOS banning these type of softwares. PT4 is more heavily use by mid and high SNG and MTTs players, specially those playing STT like 6max hypers, HUSNGs and now Spin&Go because as stated before PT4 allow them to customize their HUD and play with an unique HUD that best suits their needs and expectations. I feel so strongly PT4 is better than HM2 that HM3 have been on beta testing for over a year now and most of their user interfaces are just like PT4, especially the HUD Editor tab.

This might be a bit overwhelming for someone new to these programs but once you pass through that initial learning phase in PT4 you will realize you can get a lot more value out of it than with HM2. You can create your own reports and hud profiles in HEM (not sure about custom stats but 95% of people will never need to anyway) and if you did need to create custom stats in HEM it can definitely be done by creating a notecaddy custom stat and then adding that to your hud. So you can't get anymore value out of it because you can do the same in both. I feel so strongly PT4 is better than HM2 that HM3 have been on beta testing for over a year now and most of their user interfaces are just like PT4, especially the HUD Editor tab.
This is the biggest load of bollocks of all that you have written. The owners of PT and HEM merged their companies a couple of years ago and they are merging the underlying code so that it is easier /cheaper to support. If there ever is a pt5 it is highly likely to have the same underlying code but with potentially a different graphical interface to appease their current customers. Hem3 current HUD designer is a straightplug in of PT4s and is a complete dogs dinner compared to HEM2's hud designer. The danger is that hem3/pt5 will be bodge jobs merging current code from each trackerand will annoy their current userbase and with the number of new cheaper trackers on the market, faced with paying again for botched together software or some of the newer HUDS, people may just switch to the newer HUDs to try them out and never return.
Online poker can be a difficult beast because you cannot get tells or observe opponents' behavior patterns like you could in a brick-and-mortar cardroom, but Holdem Manager 2 (HEM2) can help you out. This heads up display and tracking tool lets you get a handle on your competitors' tendencies and playing styles while grinding poker tables over the internet. It even records all your play so that you can keep detailed information on your monetary results (very useful when tax time rolls around) and gain insight into possible leaks in your own game.
Now, there are a few sites that eschew the use of such programs and prohibit them in their terms of use. Yet, if you play at a room that allows HUDs but you opt not to employ one, then you might find yourself at a distinct disadvantage against your adversaries. Edges are pretty thin in online poker these days, and so you're really doing yourself a disservice if you fall behind the curve compared to what the other players are doing. Some people balk at paying for HEM2, but really, the investment should pay for itself many times over. For higher-stakes players, it represents less than a buyin. Even for micro-stakes poker fans, the cost of the software should be more than recouped within a few months in the form of an increased winrate. Actually, there's a special, lower-priced version that allows you to import hands from $50nl and below, $0.50/$1.00 LHE and below, and tournaments with buyins of $22 or less.
If you're an Omaha player, then there's a separate download for you although you may wish to spring for the combination Hold'em + Omaha package. Main Holdem Manager 2 Interface. When you open up Holdem Manager 2, you'll see a number of menu items at the top. Perhaps the one in which you'll spend the most time is “Report.” This shows you a breakdown of your results and stats, and you can choose to view them by stakes, session, position at the table, and several other criteria. Powerful filters permit you to only include hands played within a certain date range or in which you took a certain action, like raising preflop. You can choose which stats you'd like to include in each report, and you can group them together in custom ways to create your own bespoke reports. The bottom half of the display shows a list of the most recent hands you've played along with a summary of the betting action in each of them.
You can sort and filter these hands to find the specific ones you wish to review. Then you can read the hand histories and even replay them in a graphical interface.
There are various optional add-ons for Holdem Manager 2, like LeakBuster, which analyzes your database to uncover leaks in your game, TableNinja 2, a multi-tabling assistant, and SnowieApp, a heads-up artificial intelligence GTO training app. Holdem Manager 2 HUD. The HUD, or heads up display, is the mechanism through which HEM2 gives you real-time data on your opponents.
When you launch Holdem Manager, it will automatically import your hand histories from the sites you've previously configured in the settings. When you start playing, after a delay of a hand or two, it will realize that you have active tables and will overlay a wealth of information atop these tables. Each opponent will have his or her own HUD panel displaying a few stats that describe how that person tends to play. You can hover your mouse over any of the numbers to bring up additional data.
There are a number of preconfigured HUD arrangements that you can select from. Furthermore, it's possible to edit the HUD so that it's laid out just the way you want it. You can remove stats that you find useless, add additional metrics, change the font, and even specify different colors that you want to apply to the numbers depending on ranges that they fall within. Holdem Manager Supported Sites. Upon its launch, Holdem Manager was able to read hand history files from quite a few different online poker sites. In the years that followed, the creators have expanded these capabilities further, so HEM2 is now able to support even more rooms.
Among the compatible poker destinations are:. Winning Poker Network (, ). Horizon Poker Network (, ). (including ).
